Lives in Paris and exhibits at the Salon des Independents.
1930’s
Founds Guild Art Gallery at 37 West 57th Street, where she gives Arshile Gorky his first NYC one-man show and exhibits her own work in group shows. Participates in the American Artists Congress First Annual Membership Exhibition at Rockefeller Center in 1937.
1940’s
Included in group shows at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Academy of Design.
1950’s
Receives first solo museum retrospective in 1957 at The Jewish Museum (NYC). Work is shown at the Museum of Modern Art, Baltimore Museum of Art, the Riverside Museum (NYC), and the Bodley Gallery (NYC).
1960’s
Solo show, The Collage and the Figure, featuring Burmese Shan paper, opens at the Monede Gallery (NYC) in 1961. Participates in Japan-American Women Artists Exchange. Shows extensively in New York, as well as in the UK and France.
1970’s
Solo exhibition HOLOCAUST- Paintings & Drawings, 1953-1978 debuts as the largest single artist show to date at the Museum of Religious Art at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (NYC). Shows frequently with National Association of Women Artists and Federation of Modern Painters & Sculptors.
1980’s
With museums memorializing the Holocaust not yet built, Walinska’s exhibition tours college campuses and galleries. Soho gallery Buecker & Harpsichords celebrates her in two group exhibitions – Grandma Moseses of the Underground and Legends of the Avant Garde.
Posthumous
Shown for the first time in Eastern Europe. Finds new audiences across the U.S. in museum and gallery exhibitions.
